Shahrukh Khan has denied reports that he ever got a watch as a return gift from Akshay Kumar.
You may recall that after watching Housefull, the recent successful film of his new found friend Akshay, Shahrukh is said to have sent him a costly wrist watch as a gift.
Reports now suggest that Akshay decided to return the favor by sending an even more expensive watch also as a gift to Shahrukh.
Surely, the gestures by the two stars were not only aimed to end the cold war between the two Bollywood star but also to be good friends before they share the screen space in Sajid Khan’s next directorial venture for which the two have been allegedly signed.
But, then there was an unexpected halt in the growing friendship of the two mega stars from Bollywood when countering all the reports in the media, Shahrukh denied that he has ever received any watch as a gift from Akshay.
A member of Shahrukh’s personal staff while clarifying this issue said, “Shahrukh has not received any watch from any of his Bollywood colleagues including Akshay. We don’t know how Akshay or whoever in his place is talking about this sudden exchange of gifts. But Shahrukh is in Delhi at the moment and neither he nor Gauri has received any watch as a gift from Akshay.”
Surprisingly, the source also expressed his total ignorance about Shahrukh sending a watch or any other gift to any Bollywood star including Akshay Kumar. The source went on to clarify that the last time Shahrukh had ever sent a gift to any of his co-stars in Bollywood was a gold coin, which he presented to all the stars, who had featured in an item number of his film On Shanti Om.
So, while Shahrukh and Akshay are said to be sorting out their differences to work together in a Sajid Khan film, with the denial from Shahrukh’s side that he has neither received or given a watch to Akshay, it seems exchanging gifts is not a part of their plans to come close to one another.
