Shilpa Shetty claimed that she had “learnt a lot” from her former “Celebrity Big Brother” housemate Jade Goody who died of cancer on March 22.
“Two years ago we were bickering and fighting on television and now when I look back it all seems so futile because she’s not even there,” Shilpa told www.thetimes.co.za when asked about her reaction on Jade Goody’s death. Shilpa went on to win the Big Brother reality TV show. She again added, “Life is so unpredictable, may her soul rest in peace. I have no grudges, we patched up and became great friends.” It was the best things both have done, i.e. no guilt on anyone’s conscience.
Jade Goody also visited India many times for charity work. She also participated in the desi version of Big Brother known as Big Boss. But Jade Goody had opted out of the show in the middle after the knowledge that she is suffering from cervical cancer. Later on it was revealed that Jade Goody’s cancer was terminal and spread to many parts of her body. In her last days, Jade Goody tried to raise the awareness about cervical cancer in Britain and it was stated that 20% increase was reported in the case of smear tests mostly by young women. Jade Goody was of the view that others should not meet the fate like her.
Shilpa was speaking to www.thetimes.co.za when she was in South Africa for forthcoming IPL matches. Shilpa is the owner of the Rajasthan Royals team. She is a huge fan of Twenty20 cricket, Shilpa said she had never had the patience to watch a whole match.
“I’ve always been a very impatient person so even when I’m reading a book I always read the last chapters and the same with cricket, I always watch the last 20 overs.”
