Summons has been issued against Preity Zinta for using the pictures of freedom fighters in an IPL advertisement.

It seems for Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, the year 2010 is a year of legal battles. After being caught in a legal battle over property issues, Preity is back in court with summons issued against her over using the pictures of freedom fighters in an advertisement aimed to popularize and gain support for her IPL cricket team.

The summons was issued both for Preity and her good friend, partner and co-owner of Kings XI Punjab, Ness Wadia.

In a complaint, which was filed by a Chandigarh based NGO Global Human Rights Council, objection was raised against the team using the pictures of Bhagat Singh and Rajguru in its advertisement and thereby hurting the sentiments of people.

The president of Global Human Rights Council Arvind Thakur said that though the summons has been issued, they have not reached Preity as yet because she is travelling with her IPL team across the country. But, now Arvind plans to meet the Bollywood actress and personally hand over the summons to her.

Arvind said that though after objection was raised against the advertisement, the owners of Kings XI Punjab had rendered an apology about using the pictures of freedom fighters in various newspapers but this is not enough. The NGO felt that the owners of the team need to render an apology before the court and ensure it that such a mistake will not happen again.

So, by using the pictures of freedom fighters in the advertisement of its IPL cricket team Kings XI Punjab, Preity has once again invited legal trouble for herself. Hopefully she and her team can put this controversy aside and concentrate on their game.
