Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra
As the day of the release of Kaminey draws close, Vishal Bhardwaj is beginning to get more worried.
Though after his break-up with Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor has constantly maintained that he is single and has no girlfriend; reports of his alleged closeness with Priyanka Chopra have done rounds in the gossip circles.
Irrespective of whether the news of their closeness or break-up were true or not, reports suggest that the two are now not even on talking terms and are if fact trying to avoid each other.
But, has the news of this break-up come too early? May be yes if director of Kaminey, Vishal Bhardwaj is to be believed. If director had his way, he would have certainly liked the rumors to continue for some more days until the release of Kaminey on August 14, so that the film gets added publicity and the advantage due to the alleged link-up between Priyanka and Shahid. Further, even the intimate scenes of the film, which Vishal wanted to cash-on, will not create the kind of curiosity among the viewer and give that extra benefit to the film that they were otherwise expected to give.
What may be even worse news for Vishal, the two stars of his film are not promoting this important film together and at least one of them seems to be missing at any given event related to the film.
But, with it being in the news for quite some time now, hasn’t Kaminey already become one of the most awaited film of 2009? And as seen in the recent years, even over publicity of a film is not very good for a film, since it increases the expectations of the spectators, which may in the end adversely affect even a good film. Certainly, Vishal would not want that to happen to Kaminey.
