Jolly LLB beats other films at the box office.
Arshad Warsi has been a part of many hit film in the past but they have all been multi-starrer films, in which the actor has played a second lead. But, he has finally got the big solo hit he was looking for with Jolly LLB, which get released this week.
Riding high on the good reviews it got, Jolly LLB was able to earn Rs 19 crore in the first week. Though the collections on Friday were low, after a good footfall on the remaining two days, it collected around Rs 12.5 Crore in the first weekend and another Rs 6.5 Crore in the remaining days,
But the failure of the week was 3G. The Rs 5.9 Crore it made at the box office were just not enough for it to recover the cost its makers had invested in this Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer. The failure of 3G has the alarm bells ringing for the actor because this is the second failure Neil has had to face within last few weeks. David, the film released a few weeks ago that had Neil in the lead also proved to be a disappointment at the box office.
In fact, 3G has done worse than the third release of the week Mere Dad Ki Maruti, which did not have any big name to boast of in its star cast. By making Rs 8.1 Crore in the first week, the film was able to recover its cost at the box office.
Meanwhile, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, which showed an impressive performance in the first week, was able to pull some more crowd and add Rs 5 crore to its collections at the Box Office. The film has ended its run with Rs 22 Crore in two weeks, which meant that it was a profitable affair for the makers.
