King Singh and Big Boss!

Akshay Kumar, Singh is King
When time is right and your stars favor you, every move you make seems to give you the best results possible. Who would agree to this more than Akshay Kumar? With his films like “Welcome” and “Singh is King” doing so well, it is Akshay who has who has replaced all Khans as the king of Bollywood.
Akshay’s new dominance in the industry is being felt by all, more so by the Khan’s who are feeling the heat of Akki’s success and are therefore trying extra hard to promote their new films. In Bollywood, which is a medium of exposure and publicity, you don’t even want to miss a single chance of showing your face in public and being noticed in public, specially when your new movie is about to hit the screen. So, even if the Stars get the smallest chance to show their face in public and use that opportunity to campaign for their new film, they want to grab it with both hands. This is even more true at this point of time when the three big Khan’s Shah Rukh, Salman and Amir, face the toughest competition not only with others but among each other as well.
So, when both Shah Rukh and Salman were offered to be the celebrity guest at the grand finale of the TV show Big Boss, they both couldn’t decline it.
But, guess who walked away with the honors? Its none other than Akshay Kumar. Though the producers of the Celebrity show Big Boss are keeping it as a close secret, the buzz word in the industry is that Akshay kumar has signed a deal with them. He will feature in the grand finale of the Big Boss show to be aired on November 22.
Well done Akshay. You truly are the undisputed king of the Bollywood right now

Golmaal Returns Running into Controversies
Nov 14, 2008 No Comments »

Tusshar Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade in Golmaal Returns
Director Rohit Shetty whose film ‘Golmaal Returns’ released a couple of weeks back, is on top of the world claiming that his film is a hit. According to the director what makes him even happier is the fact that despite being written off as very average movie by some film critics, the film has opened to a bumper opening at the box office. controversies
Rohit accused that those who had actually written his film off had done so to settle some personal scores with him. Rohit alleged that a film critic, who was himself a director at one point of time, intentionally gave negative reviews to ‘Golmaal Returns’ because the concerned film critic had some personal problem with the editor of the movie. Steven Bernard. “Just to show Steven Bernard in negative shades, this critic wrote negative reviews about my film”, Shetty said.
But as the director enjoys the success of the film, trouble seems to knocking his door as well. ‘Golmaal Returns’ which is said to an adaptation of a play and a film made 1970’s, has run into problems with regard to the copyright issue. Reports suggest that though the film’s producers didn’t need to acquire the rights of the original story, since everybody associated with the play has since passed away, they did not acquire the copyrights of another film based on the same story line. Rohit said this issue is being taken care of.
Rohit Shetty also brush aside reports that Anjana Sukhani, an actress associated with the film is unhappy since she had been sidelined in the whole publicity campaign of the movie. He said that he had personally sorted out the issue by speaking to the actress.

Abhishek Bachchan intends to stay away from the latest fads
Jun 05, 2008 No Comments »
Abhishek Bachchan has said that he plans to stay away from the latest fads such as six abs and blogging. Incidentally the greatest celebrity blogger in India is Abhishek’s dad, the Big B blogs at BigAdda. Recently he said in an interview:
I will not go for six-packs. I am not doing anything to get it. I am very happy with my one-pack and I would love to hold on to it. In fact, I would like every one to go back to one-pack.
Regarding creating a blog he commented:
I keep shooting outdoors and I don’t think I can update it regularly, so I don’t want to start it.
Good for him. At least there is someone content with the way he is. It’s very difficult to see such attitude in Bollywood where herd mentality rules the roost.

Rakeysh Mehra and Rang De Basanti
Apr 01, 2008 No Comments »

Rang de Basanti team
Though, most people working in the mass media, whether they are journalists or film makers, feel they have the right and the freedom to say whatever they wish to, a few like Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra feel otherwise. In an interview, the maker of Rang De Basanti said that he feels it is useless to make a film unless it gives a social message for the masses.
Yes, of course, it is beyond any doubt that Rang De Basanti was a great piece of cinema, a classic in itself but from where did the director get the inspiration for this modern day classic? Revealing this top level secret, the director says that the inspiration for all his films come from his own real life experiences only. Rakeysh says, ‘’I belong to a middle class family, where one spends his entire life mainly doing two things only - struggling or experiencing the hard truths of life and dreaming. I have found and used cinema as a unique medium to express both my own experiences and dreams.”
So, now you know how and from where did Rang De Basanti saw the light of the day. But, Rakeysh is in no mood to stop making films in his own way if you thought so. This given the fact that his next film Delhi 6, which is said to be a journey of a young man from America to his roots, is also said to be an autobiographical description of the times when the director lived in Delhi.
If this film is also a dramatical portrayal of the evils that prevail in the present day society, its surely going to be a craze of some sorts among cinema goes, We are waiting.
