Star Cast of Ishaqzaade : Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Ratan Singh Rathore, Anil Rastogi, Gauhar Khan, Abdullah Osman, Akash Bhathija, Aradhana Dhawan, Jafar Dhillon, Aaftab Ahmed, Mohd. Hafeez, Jay Shanker Pandey, Varun Tamta, Pravin Chandra

Director: Habib Faisal
Producer: Aditya Chopra
Music Director: Amit Trivedi
Lyricst: Kausar Munir, Habib Faisal

Since the last release by director Habib Faisal Do Dooni Chaar was praised equally by both the audiences and the critics, there were a lot of expectations from his next film Ishaqzaade. After watching the film, you can say that the director has worked very hard to fulfill those expectations.

Ishaqzaade is an important presentation from the Yashraj banner. With this film, the production house, which basically believes in romantic movies, has once again returned to action films, something it does from time to time. The film also talks of arrogance and pride of people from smaller towns.

Ishaqzaade is set in North India. It is a story of two rebellious individuals, who while trying to hate one another, ultimately fall in love. The lead characters of the film are associated with political families, who are at war with each other.

The store of Ishaqzaade is about Parma [Arjun Kapoor] and Zoya [Parineeti Chopra], two youngsters, who have been told from their childhood to hate one another. But circumstances make them realize that since they have so many similarities among them, there is no need for them to hate each other.

One of the biggest factors that was going to work in its favor or against Ishaqzaade was the lead pair, which is relatively new in the industry. If the chemistry of the lead pair works in such a film, it can create wonders. And the good news for everyone associated with the film is that this chemistry has indeed worked as both Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra make a great on-screen pair in this film. The scenes where they fight and the romantic scenes between them look equally good.

Some scenes filmed by director Habib Faisal in Ishaqzaade are excellent. Especially scenes after the interval like the one where Arjun argues with his mother or where he apologies to Parineeti, show the caliber of Habib as a director. But, the film is not without and flaws either. There is a phase before the climax, where the film becomes very slow and boring. Even a few songs after the interval are forced into the film and could be easily done away with. But, then the climax of the film looks good on screen. The setting of Ishaqzaade in a small town of Utter Pradesh also works well for the film.

If you leave aside the fact that some songs after the interval make the film slow, the music of Ishaqzaade in general is good. The background score, cinematography and the action sequences of the film are also excellent.

The debutant actor Arjun Kapoor makes a perfect entry into Bollywood with Ishaqzaade and shows that he has got talent. Since this was his first film, it seems he has put in extra effort to understand his role. Can he do the same when he has more work in hand, will only be known when his future films hit screen. Parineeti Chopra has never done such an important role in a Hindi Film before Ishaqzaade. Usually lead lady is more for glamor in Bollywood movies but Parineeti plays the role of a slightly violent girl to the utmost perfection.

Other actors of Ishaqzaade including Gauhar Khan, Anil Rastogi, Natasha Rastogi and Ratan Rathore do justice to their roles.

With an intense story, good screenplay, good performances by the lead pair and good music, Ishaqzaade can be watched once.

Star Cast of Dangerous Ishq : Karishma Kapoor, Rajneesh Duggal, Divya Dutta, Jimmy Shergill, Ruslaan Mumtaz
Director: Vikram Bhatt
Producer: Arun Rangachari
Music Director: Himesh Reshammiya

Dangerous Ishq is another film by Vikram Bhatt that is based on the concept of past life. It basically talks of Past Life Regression, which is a way to visit your past life through meditation or hypnosis. In the film, the lead female character attempts to unravel, through Past Life Regression, the mystery adjoining her past lives.

The main story plot of Dangerous Ishq, though not being something new and fresh, is attractive because Indian audiences can relate to it. And since it is a film directed by Vikram Bhatt, you can also expect some interesting and thrilling moments in it.

Dangerous Ishq is a story of Sanjana [Karisma Kapoor] and Rohan [Rajneish Duggal], who are a very popular couple in their own circle. While Rohan is a son of a very big businessman, Sanjana is a model. Sanjana gets a modelling assignment in Paris but she says No to it because she does not want to stay away from her man for long and she also apprehends that something is about to go wrong in her life. Her instinct that something is about to go wrong in her life comes true when Rohan gets kidnapped. While the kidnappers demand huge amount of money to release Rohan, Sanjana sees vision of her past life. Sanjana then uses those visions to find her lost love.

Apart from an interesting basic storyline, the screenplay of Dangerous Ishq has many interesting moments to keep the viewer hooked. It was a challenge for the director to shift between past and present in the film. The shift between past and present is so well filmed by the director that it never confuses the audience. In fact the first hour of the film is perfect.

But then the second hour of Dangerous Ishq is so long that the audiences cannot bear it. Even otherwise, it seems that after the interval, the director has not been able to treat the film properly. Though there are some good scenes even in the second hour, the screenplay over here has been written very badly. The portions of the film showcasing Meerabai (Gracy Singh) and the part which zeros on the person who kidnaps Rohan are highly boring. The conclusion of the film is in a typical Bollywood movie style, which is also stale and is not able to attract the viewer.

Some of the technical work in Dangerous Ishq is superb. The technical team has ensured that it creates, captures and shows each era in a proper manner. The music and dialogue of the film are good but there is still nothing special about them.

Over the years, Karisma Kapoor has improved as an actor. Dangerous Ishq also has moments, which show her capabilities and skills in this field. Yet, this won’t be a memorable film of Karisma because her role did not give her much scope to showcase her proper acting talent.

Among the remaining star cast, Jimmy Shergill, Divya Dutta and Ravi Kishan give impressive performances in Dangerous Ishq. Rajniesh Duggal, who is the hero of the film along with other actors like Ruslaan Mumtaz, Aarya Babbar and Samir Kochhar have done justice to whatever small roles they got in the film. Gracy Singh on the other hand fails to leave an impact with her role.

Karisma and Vikram Bhatt was a good team. They could have given a better film than Dangerous Ishq.

Star Cast of Housefull 2 : Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, John Abraham, Chunky Pandey, Asin Thottumkal, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shreyas Talpade, Zarine Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Rishi Kapoor, Boman Irani, Randhir Kapoor, Shazahn Padamsee

Music Director: Sajid Ali, Wajid Ali
Lyricst: Sameer
Singers : Neeraj Shridhar, Mamta Sharma,
Sukhwinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Suzanne D Mello, Wajid Ali

As everyone knows Housefull 2 is a sequel to Housefull, the hit film of 2010 made by Sajid Khan. So, when the director decided to make the sequel to his hit film, he took a big risk because he had to ensure that the second film of the Housefull series is better than the first one.

Though director Sajid Khan has tried to make Housefull 2 at a much bigger scale and has a much bigger star cast than the first film, the basic aim of the film remains the same as the first one, to entertain people. The film may not make sense with regard to its story, but it makes you come out of the cinema hall with a smile on your face.

Housefull 2 belongs to the set of films, which lack any sense and the incidents happening in the storyline of the film do not convince a parson having even a little bit of common sense. But, though the haphazard incidents and characters are not able to convince your intellectual capabilities, they are able to make you enjoy what you get to see on the screen. And why blame the directors for making such illogical movies, because people enjoy such movies and want films, which are made only for entertainment.
Housefull 2 is a story of two step brothers Daboo (Randhir Kapoor) and Chintu (Rishi Kapoor), two businessmen from United Kingdom, who are bitter enemies. Both have a young daughter but Chintu is lucky one who has the opportunity to get her daughter engaged to Jai (Shreyas Talpade). But when Jai’s parents go to meet Chintu, they get insulted badly. Jai with the help of his friend Jolly (Ritesh Deshmukh) tries to take revenge from Chintu and sends Max (John Abraham) as a fraud rich man to Chitu’s house. But Max somehow meets Daboo and Daboo selects him for his daughter. Then Jai and Jolly send Sunny (Akshay Kumar) to take revenge from Chintu. Both Daboo and Chintu think the man at their house is the son of a rich man JD. They reach JD’s house to get their respective daughter engaged to JD’s son. The real son of JD is Jolly. Sunny then handles the situation at the JD’s house.
Housefull 2 is nothing but a pure entertainer for the common man. If you are one of those, who do not care about logic and story and watch a movie only for entertainment and to get over your tension, you will enjoy this film.
The first hour of Housefull 2 is very precise and entertaining. Sajid is able to introduce all his characters in a very effective manner as the screenplay in initial part of the film is excellent. But then some sequences in the second hour like the scenes featuring Vindu Dara Singh and the fight between Mithun Chakraborty and Boman Irani seem to be forced and unnecessary. Some other funny situations shown in the film seem ineffective and childish on the screen, but on a whole the film makes you laugh throughout. The film picks up again at the climax and the conclusion of the film is very entertaining.
The direction, music and cinematography of Housefull 2 are excellent.
Housefull 2 is a film of six people Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Ritesh Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Mithun Chakraborty and Randhir Kapoor, each one of whom has delivered an excellent performance.
When Akshay does a comedy film, he depends a lot on the way he delivers his dialogues. Akshay once again depends on his dialogues in this film and comes out as a winner. Akshay also looks fabulous in the character he displays in Housefull 2. Apart from being a master in comedy himself, it seems Akshay is also teaching comedy to John Abraham. John is improving in his comic timing with every film and is excellent in Housefull 2.
Ritesh Deshmukh had tried something different with his last film Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya but with Housefull 2, he returns back to what he does the best. And just like Ritesh, Shreyas Talpade has also proved a couple of times like with his role in the Golmaan series that he is good at comedy. With Housefull 2, he proves this fact once again.
Apart from four lead male stars, Mithun Chakraborty and Randhir Kapoor are excellent and look stylish in their roles in Housefull 2.
Asin and Rishi Kapoor look decent in their roles. Though Rishi has done complete justice to this role in Housefull 2 as well, there have been other films in the recent past, when his character has been far better.
Jacqueline, Shazahn and Zarine have a very small role in Housefull 2, to leave any impact. The same goes for Boman Irani, and Malaika Arora Khan. The character of Boman was very vital one in Housefull but in Housefull 2, Boman’s fans will feel disappointed by the length of his role. Malaika Arora Khan also has a very small role in the film.
Among the remaining star cast, Chunky Pandey and Johny Lever succeed in making you laugh in Housefull 2.
So if you like senseless comedies, you will enjoy Housefull 2.

Mustafa Zahid

Many films made by the Bhatt camp in the past have shown the lead character as an ordinary middle-class person aspiring big in life and getting caught in the web of the underworld. With Blood Money, the camp tries to make one more film, which again has the same subject as its central idea.

Blood Money is a story of Kunal (Kunal Khemu), who moves abroad along with his wife Arzoo [Amrita Puri] in South Africa to work for a diamond company. As the ambitious man displays his capacity to sell diamonds, the owner of the company Zaveri [Manish Chaudhuri] gives him one promotion after another. But whereas Kunal enjoys his success, as he makes it big, he has problems with his wife on one hand and with Zaveri’s brother on the other hand. Soon, Kunal also finds out that much of Zaveri’s business is illegal and with every passing day, he is becoming a part of it. On finding out that Kunal knows about the illegal part of his business and wants to destroy him, Zaveri lays a trap to kill Kunal.

In today’s time, to make a good film, you have to offer something entirely new to the viewers. Even if you are offering a stale deal to the viewer, you have to pack it in such a way that it looks brand new on screen. That’s where Blood Money totally losses out in impressing the viewers. Though there are some interesting moments, the viewer does not appreciate these moments too much because apart from these selective moments, you are not watching anything new and attractive in the film.

The first hour of the film is excellent. The screenplay of Blood Money showcases a young ambitious man in the most appropriate manner. Any young man will relate to Kunal in the first part of the film and see little bit of Kunal in himself. But then the way Kunal fights the underworld at the climax is most unreal. The climax of the film, where the lead actor keeps running despite being stabbed is not easy to understand either.

The director of Blood Money Vishal Mahadkar has dealt with certain aspects of the story pretty well. The tensions in the relations of the lead character Kunal and his wife on one hand and Kunal and Zeveri’s brother on the other hand get shown on the screen in a beautiful manner. The screenplay also successfully establishes Kunal as an ambitious man, But, all this is in the initial part of the film. A weak screenplay spoils the film completely in the climax.

Apart from the direction, the music and cinematography of Blood Money are good.

Kunal Khemu is excellent in the film. The powerful performance in Blood Money will help him establish as an actor in the industry. Amrita Puri also matches Kunal in the film with an equally good performance. Apart from the lead pair, Manish Chaudhuri, Sandiip Sikcand and Teeshay also give good performance and leave an impact. But the role of Mia Uyeda and Karan Mehra are very small.

You can say that Blood Money starts off well but a weak story and screenplay makes the film lose its way. Though, it’s a good attempt, the film could have been much better.

Bollywood is known to go by trends and the trends in the recent past have not seen a movie, where the lead actor of the film is a detective or a secret agent. Keeping this in mind, one can say that by making Agent Vinod, Saif Ali Khan, the producer of the film has taken some risk. The risk is even greater when you also take into account the fact that even the few films made in Bollywood right from the days of early 1970s where the hero of the film is a secret agent, have not been able to attract too many audiences to the theatres.

But, despite this diminishing past record of movies with secret agent as the lead character, what works in favor of Agent Vinod is the fact that none of the movies in the past four decades, whose story was based on the character of a secret agent, were made on such a large scale as this one. This is the first secret agent film, which has both the style and the substance to make it big.

The story of Agent Vinod beings with a secret agent Rajan (Ravi Kishen) informing his bosses in Indian government establishment about a number 242. Since he dies without telling anything more, the Indian authorities appoint one of their top detectives Agent Vinod (Saif Ali Khan) to find the secret behind the number. Vinod gets to the man named Abu Nazar [Ram Kapoor], a Russian money launderer, who was working against Indian interest. Vinod finds out about an underworld man in Moscow named Mafiosi Kazan [Prem Chopra], who is interested in an auction and wants to buy item number 242. Mafiosi also has a mysterious Dr Ruby [Kareena Kapoor]. Again, before Agent Vinod can find out what Mafiosi is up to, he gets killed. Agent Vinod travel around the world and finds out that the item number 242 is in Pakistan. Agent Vinod and Ruby reach Pakistan to find out that Pakistan’s establishment is trying to execute a nuclear bomb explosion in Delhi during 2010 Commonwealth Games. Agent Vinod comes back to Delhi to unfold the plans of agents from Pakistan, who want to destroy the city.

Agent Vinod has shown a realistic detective, who travels across the world to find the enemies of India and does not use any unrealistic gadgets in his venture.

Some of the key features of Agent Vinod are its strong story and screenplay and an excellent direction by Sriram Raghavan. In the past also, Sriram has made films, which require you as audiences to keep your ears, eyes and intellectual capabilities intact, while watching the film. Same goes for Agent Vinod. The story writers and the director have also ensured that they provide an Indian touch to the film and it does not look like an unsuccessful copy of any Hollywood film. They have also included some humor into this story of a detective, which looks good on screen.

The music of the film by Pritam is excellent. The songs are not only catchy but blend well into the main storyline of Agent Vinod. The cinematography and the action of the film are also very good. The only drawback of the film is the editing, which has made the film slow in certain parts.

Saif has understood his character in the film fairly well. Apart from his acting, his dialogue delivery in the film is excellent. He is just perfect in the film. Kareena is equally good in the film. She has an important role in the film and Kareena does complete justice to it.

Apart from the lead pair, Prem Chopra, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Adil Hussain, Gulshan Grover, Zakir Hussain, Shahbaaz Khan and Ram Kapoor do complete justice to their respective characters in Agent Vinod. The two actors, who have not got complete opportunity to showcase their talent in the film, are Zakir Hussain and Ravi Kishen and the culprit behind their failure is the length of their roles, which are rather small.

If Saif wanted to make an Indian version of James Bond with Agent Vinod, he has been successful in what he wanted to do.

Star Cast of Chaar Din Ki Chandni: Tusshar Kapoor, Kulraj Randhawa, Anupam Kher, Om Puri, Mukul Dev, Johny Lever, Anita Raj, Sachin Pandit, Sushant Singh, Chandrachur Singh
Director: Samir Karnik
Producer: Samir Karnik
Music Director: Sandesh Shandilya, Rdb
Lyricst: Sandeep Srivastava

Director Samir Karnik is known for making movies, which are high on entertainment quotient but at the same time lack any kind of logic. Such movies may not be liked by the critics but they put a smile on the face of the viewers. His last film Yamla Pagla Deewana was also made with an aim of entertaining the masses and his new release Chaar Din Ki Chandni is no different. The film will make people laugh and enjoy but to watch this one, you have to keep your intellectual capacities behind.
Chaar Din Ki Chandni does not have a great story and a great screenplay to boost of but yet it fulfills its main aim of making you laugh very efficiently. The film makes the audience understand at a very early stage that it is made only for entertainment so that you take into your stride all the illogical scenes and elements shown in it.
Chaar Din Ki Chandni is a story based in Rajasthan where a boy of Rajasthani origin falls in love with a Punjabi girl. He avoids his identity to save his love but rather than helping him, this move puts him in a problem.
Despite a team of artists in the film, Chaar Din Ki Chandni does not pick-up in the first hour. The director tries to make you laugh with couple of sequences in the first hour but most of these sequences do not work with the viewers and the jokes seem to have been forced. The film picks up only in the second hour as the element of humor in this part and at the climax of the film is quite entertaining and keeps the viewer hooked to the film.
Though the climax of Chaar Din Ki Chandni is quite similar to Yamla Pagla Deewana but since it is very entertaining, it avoids giving an impression to the viewers that they are watching something they have seen before.
Irrespective of whether it is a serious film or a comedy like Chaar Din Ki Chandni, every film needs a story and a screenplay to help the director convey what he wants to say to the viewers. Since lack of a good story and a proper screenplay does affect the film negatively, the director needed to give a little more emphasis on the screenplay of the film, which has not been done in this case. The music and dialogues of the film are good.
Tusshar gets it right this time around in this role. His character has a lot of energy, which gets shown on the screen.
Kulraj, who stars opposite Tusshar, has done complete justice to her role in the film.
Among the other actors, two veteran stars Anupam Kher and Om Puri, who feature in the film, leave a huge impact with their roles. The performance of the two in Chaar Din Ki Chandni shows that in films such as this one, which does not have a big name of Hindi Film world, actors of their class and status will always leave an impact.
Chaar Din Ki Chandni brings back Anita Raj, Chandrachur Singh and Mukul Dev on big screen after a big gap. While both Anita and Chandrachur Singh shine in their roles and take complete advantage of the opportunity, Mukul is not able to do the same. . Farida Jalal and Johny Lever get wasted in their small roles.
If you like comedies and want to have a little fun while watching a movie this week, Chaar Din Ki Chandni is the right choice for you.

star Cast of Kahaani: Vidya Balan, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Nawazuddin Siddiqui , Indraneel Sengupta

Director: Sujoy Ghosh
Producer: Kushal Gada, Sujoy Ghosh
Music Director: Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravjiani
Lyricst: Vishal Dadlani, Anvita Dutt Guptan, Clinton Cerejo, Sandeep Srivastava

The audiences of the Bollywood movies are ready to accept different kind of films these days, which is encouraging producers to make and experiment with various kinds of ideas. Kahaani is one attempt, which falls in this category of films that are different and has not been seen by the audience of Hindi Cinema earlier.

One advantage of audiences accepting different kind of films is that it has changed the scenario for many people, who didn’t have much to do in Bollywood at one point of time but are now getting offers, which they couldn’t think of earlier. No, it is not only the directors and the technicians but even the lead ladies of Bollywood, who were not more than a showpiece in the film earlier but are now getting offers of films, whose story is completely different and women centric.

In fact, whereas some years back, producers could not even think of making women centric films, they are now earning profit on films, which has woman as the main character. And one lady who has played a major role in making this change is Vidya Balan, whose films like No One Killed Jassica and The Dirty Picture have not only been declared a hit but changed the perception of Bollywood lead lady.

Now, with an authoritative central character and several thought provoking moments, Kahaani is the new women centric film, which again has the capacity to lure the viewer and incidentally stars Vidya in the lead role.

Kahaani is a story of Vidya Bagchi [Vidya Balan], a seven months pregnant woman from London, who comes to Kolkata, looking for her husband lost in the city. She tries very hard to search her husband but all her efforts go in vain. Since she hardly has any clue about where to find him, she is almost convinced that he is no more. But then she soon finds out that there is much more to the story than what she can think of. But Vidya is determined to find the truth behind her husband getting disappeared despite all the difficulties she faces.

The subject of the Kahaani, which revolves round a pregnant woman whose husband disappears, is surely very interesting. The conflict between the woman, who thinks that her husband is still alive and everyone around her, who feel that he is no more, is surely very mesmerizing on screen.

With Kahaani, director Sujoy Ghosh has made a film, where he has tried to present a thrilling story with a human face. It seems that the director clearly knew from the very beginning what he was attempting with this story idea and his writer with a superb story and screenplay has given all possible help to him.

It is not only the screenplay of the film, which has got in a lot of depth but the way Sujoy has shown the real look of the city of Kolkata, makes the city look alive on the screen and is a treat to watch. The director has also ensured the film has twists and turns at the right time to keep the viewer engaged from beginning to end. Yes, this is a serious story, but apart from the appropriate twist and turns to keep you on the edge, the screenplay has also incorporated humor at the right places to include a light-hearted flavor to Kahaani.

The screenplay only fails at the end because the climax of the film is rather complex for a common man to follow and leaves you completely baffled as to what the director wants to say. The climax could have been a little simple.

As mentioned above, the cinematography of the film is excellent. The cameraman of Kahaani needed to capture Kolkata from various angles and the camera work of the film does that perfectly. The music of the film is also goes well with the main plot and does not make the film slow.

With Kahaani, Vidya has given one more excellent performance. Agreed, she is a very talented actress but yet, performing this role needed her to show a lot of confidence as an actress, which Vidya has shown in this role.

Apart from Vidya, the remaining star-cast including Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Darshan Jariwala and Indraneil Sengupta have all given splendid performances in their respective roles.

An excellent story, screenplay, direction and performance by Vidya make Kahaani a tremendous movie to watch. Go see it.

Mantra Mugdh as Monty (Cameo)

Director : Anu Menon

Singers : Ali Zafar, Sunidhi Chauhan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanam Marvi, Hadiqa Kiani

A romantic comedy seems to be the favorite theme among the producers these days because even if a romantic comedy does not bring huge returns to the producers, it does not result in big losses. But history in recent past shows that a romantic comedy becomes attractive only if it has been treated differently and in a manner that can be appreciated by the audiences.

In times when we see a lot of comedies, London Paris New York is one such film, which can call itself different than the usual romantic comedies we see these days.

London Paris New York is a romantic film that revolves in three big cities of the world. In narrating this story that spans over a period of eight years, Anu Menon and her style of telling the story, aims purely at the urban youth. Any youth will relate to London Paris New York because it tells the story of a youth and what he has to go through when she gets ready to face the world independently. Alongside, it also tells the tale of how youth need to handle their personality and relationships.

This is a story of a middle class girl Lalitha [Aditi Rao Hydari] and a rich boy Nikhil [Ali Zafar], both of whom are going to New York to study. They decide to hang out in London and fall for each-other. They meet three times in the span of eight years and since each time their mental state in different, they react differently in every phase.

Director of the film Anu Menon needs to be appreciated for the way she has dealt with the subject of London Paris New York. Thanks to an excellent screenplay, the characters, their feelings and the situations shown in the film seem like completely real.

But it is not as if the film does not have any drawbacks. The first hour of London Paris New York is very slow. You as the audience expect the film to move forward once the lead pair of the star cast gets introduced but the pace of the film remains as slow as ever. The director then makes up for the slow first hour with the film picking up in a little before the interval and an excellent climax.

Since London Paris New York was to be shot in three big cities of the world, the director has ensured that the camera work is excellent and the beauty of these three big cities gets captured in the film.

Ali Zafar has different roles in the film. Apart from acting in the film, he has also written the lyrics and composed the music of the film and has done a wonderful job as a technician of London Paris New York. The songs of the film not only sound good but also blend well with the main story of the film.

Apart from his work in the technical department, Ali Zafar also sparkles on the screen in London Paris New York. Ever since he entered Bollywood with Tere Bin Laden, Ali has grown with every performance of his. Even this film goes to show that he has the caliber as an actor.

Aditi Rao Hydari also gets noticed in the film. She not only gives a good performance but also looks stunning in London Paris New York.
Apart from the lead pair of London Paris New York, one other actor who gets noticed with his performance in the film is Dilip Tahil.
London Paris New York is a film for the youth and they will not only like it but also identify with it.

Star Cast of Paan Singh Tomar :
Irrfan Khan as Paan Singh Tomar
Mahi Gill as Indra
Vipin Sharma as Major Masand
Imran Hasnee as Matadeen Singh Tomar
Ankur Garg as Baadshah Bhai
Neeraj Jain as Jain Saab
Varun Kumar Garg as Chidi
Vikas Pachauri as Pach

A lifetime may fall short to count the number of films made in Bollywood with revenge, fight against the system or dacoits as the main theme of the movie. Paan Singh Tomar, the story of a runner, who took up arms after being betrayed by the authorities is one such film and though the film has got delayed, it still hold relevance in the present day context.

The story of Paan Singh Tomar tries to clarify and define the difference between a rebel and a dacoit by explaining the thin difference between the two. Whereas Bollywood films of present day show a dacoit like character based in the city, this film takes us back to the times when Bollywood film makers tried to cash the news of dacoits of Bihad, who used to spread violence in that region. But, despite being a story on the life of dacoits in Bihad, this film does not show blood or fiery dialogues, which are associated with such films.

The part of the film that spells out reasons, which turns a sportsman into a rebel is quite absorbing. Some parts of the film even seem like a tribute to those sportsmen, who despite bringing glory to the nation, did not get the due credit they deserved in their lifetime. But, then the kind of feud shown in the climax turns a good film into an ordinary film.

Paan Singh Tomar is a story of Paan Singh [Irrfan Khan), who aspires to win a medal at a games event. But circumstances force him to turn into a dacoit.
With Paan Singh Tomar, the director of the film has tried to make a biopic, in which the story focuses more on the aspect that what made him turn into a rebel. Tigmanshu Dhulia, who has directed this film had a tough task at his hand because in a limited span of time, he had to start the film from the days the lead character enters the army, show his life as a sportsperson and then how he turns into a rebel. The director needs to be complimented for his efforts because he has not only captured the main events of the life of the lead character but has also made an entertaining film. As a viewer, you are also able to emotionally relate to the story at the climax, which again indicates that the director has done a good job.
Making this film was tough also because some parts of the person’s life, on whom the film is being made, may be much more interesting than the others. Something similar happens in this film as well. While the first part of the film is very interesting but since some aspects of Paan Singh Tomar’s life were less happening than the others, the film becomes very slow in the second hour. The film picks up once again at the climax and the director is able to engage you in the most parts of the film.
Apart from the direction, the cinematography, the editing and the background score of Paan Singh Tomar are also equally good.
Playing a lead role in a biopic film is always difficult for an actor. This role was even more challenging for Irrfan, because it was both physically and mentally very demanding for him. But, Irrfan has given a fine performance in the film and has got complete control over the character despite the fact that he had to play a real person.
Its not only Irrfan but even the remaining star cast of Paan Singh Tomar including Mahie Gill, Vipin Sharma, Rajendra Gupta, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Imran Hasnee and Brijendra Kala excel in their respective roles in the film.
Paan Singh Tomar goes a long way in shattering the myth that only formula films can bring entertainment to its viewers. It confirms the fact that any film, even a biopic, if made properly can become an entertainer.

Lyricst: Shabbir Ahmed

Singers: Toshi Sabri, Sharib Shabri, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sukhwinder Singh, Monali Thakur, Daler Mehndi, Sachin Gupta, Master Saleem

Will You Marry Me is a film about the present day youth, who do not believe in long term relationship or commitment and want to live their life without the suffocation of duties that come along with a serious relationship. The film highlights the fact that the youth want to live their life freely and are scared of a permanent relation in life.

The basic idea of Will you Marry Me revolves around two men trying to follow one girl and trying to be better than the other in their attempt to impress her.

Will you Marry Me narrates the story of three friends Aarav [Shreyas Talpade], Rajveer [Rajeev Khandelwal] and Nikhil [Muzammil Ibrahim], who love their bachelorhood. They have made a joint investment and even make a promise to each-other that whoever falls in love first, will lose a large part of his share in that investment. But then Nikhil gets close to Anjali [Tripta Parashar]. Initially, both Aarav and Rajveer do not like the idea of Nikhil getting married but when they go to Dubai to attend the marriage of their friend, they themselves fall in love with the same girl Sneha [Mugdha Godse]. But while they are busy sorting out, who will Sneha choose among them, the two have to face another problem as their friend Nikhil is kidnapped by a powerful business tycoon [Paresh Rawal].

The director of the film Aditya V. Datt has ensured that apart from having an interesting concept, Will You Marry Me does not lack on entertainment and laughter components. But then, like most directors in Bollywood, he could not resist the temptation of falling back on the tried and tested formulas used in Hindi film world, which makes the climax of the movie stale and predictable. The director has also tried to force some scenes and songs into the screenplay of the film, which makes this film very slow at times.

Will You Marry Me starts on a good note. The comic element in the initial part is quite entertaining and keeps the audiences hooked. What the director needed to do was to take an unconventional path after the entry of Paresh Rawal on the screen but he fails to do that. Even the romantic angle of the film is not very attractive.

Aditya V. Datt shows promise as the director of Will You Marry Me. As mentioned above, the director has tried his best to make an entertaining film but, it is the highly predictable screenplay of the film, which lets his efforts down. One other drawback of the film is its music, which does not have even a single track that can remain at the back of your memory when you leave the theatre. The cinematography of the film is quite attractive.

Among the actors, who were seen on the screen in the films, Shreyas Talpade and Rajeev Khandelwal are the two most known names in the star-cast of Will You Marry Me, and they even steal the show. Paresh Rawal, Manoj Joshi, Muzammil and Tripta Parashar sparkle in certain scenes of the film. But since this is a film that focuses on boys, the two female leads Mugdha and Celina Jaitly do not get much scope in the film.

Will You Marry Me is not a bad attempt. Had the director Aditya V. Datt got a slightly better script and the producers could have given more attention to the promotion of the film, the results for this film could have been different.
