Aao Wish Karein talks of a hard reality of life, which is that as a child you wish that you grew up as early as possible, but once an adult the problems of life make you wish again that may be you were still a child.

The biggest drawback of this film is that while you are watching the movie, you feel as if you have seen this film before. Therefore, an old story with no big stars, the film largely fails to attract your attention.

Further, unlike some other films released in the recent past, the makers have failed to decide whether this film targets the youth or children. Well, in midst of all this confusion, the truth is that the film attracts nobody, neither the kids nor the youth.

This film tells the story of Mickey (Aftab Shivdasani), whose life is nothing short of a fairy-tale, with a beautiful family, a good friend Bonnie and an angle, Mitika [Aamna Shariff]. But then, Mickey’s life gets shattered, when he comes to know that he is an adopted child as his angle also calls him a kid.

This is when Mickey wishes he was older and surprisingly, when he gets the next morning, he finds that his wish has actually come true. But, rather than being happy, he becomes more sad as a grown up person due to the problems he has to face.

Though, the story did have the capacity to attract people’s attention, a weak screenplay has done it a lot of harm. Despite turning into an adult, the fact that Mickey keeps behaving like a 12-years old child is quick unrealistic. Moreover, this has most certainly killed whatever romantic angle the film could have had.

The director Glen Barretto has put in some hard work, which reflects in certain parts of the movie. Some scenes like those where Aftab Shivdasani and Johnny Lever are featured together are quite entertaining. But on an overall basis, the film gets slow as it progresses. The two many songs in the second hour of the film, slow down the pace of the film considerably – again an indication that both the screenplay and the direction are weak.

If there is any high point in the movie, it is the Keshav Prakash’s cinematography. With his camera, the cinematographer has been able to capture some exquisite locations in Goa and Himachal Pradesh.

The film stars Aftab Shivdasani, Aamna, Johny Lever, Mitika [Aamna Shariff], Rati Agnihotri and Yatin Karyekar in main characters. Apart from Johnny Lever, who has given an excellent performance, no other actor’s performance is worth a mention.

Probably, the same applies to the film as a whole. Though, entertaining in parts, this is not a film, which has the capacity to hold your attention throughout.
