Star Cast : Ajay Devgan, Paresh Rawal, Konkona Sen Sharma, Satish Kaushik, Mac Mohan, Sanjay Mishra, Akhilendra Mishra

We all have guests at our places. There was a time when these guests were welcomed but with the changing of times, especially in Metros where both husband and wife work and have other commitments than just attending to guests, an unwanted guest is a strict No, No. Such a guest may cause hindrance and disturb your privacy. Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge tells this story not only with the help of humor and emotions but also with a touch of devotion.

The film is the story of a married couple from Mumbai, Puneet [Ajay Devgn] and Munmun [Konkona], whose life takes a turn when a distant relative from their village Chachaji [Paresh Rawal) lands up at their house unannounced. The guest stays at their house for so long that the host ultimately has to plan his departure in a hurry.

Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge is a light-hearted entertainer, which makes you laugh at various points through its situations, which look so real and other one-liners. The writes of the film Robin Bhatt and Tushar Hiranandani have seen to it that there are plenty of enjoyable scenes in the film to keep you hooked. To add to it is the devotional factor including the Mata ki aarti, the Ganesh Chaturthi and the lecture on values that the guest gives to Ajay and Konkana’s child, which goes well with the audiences.

Though, it is a good idea to begin with, director Ashwni Dhir has made certain mistakes in the story and screenplay. The scene of raid at the hotel where Ajay moves in with his family or Ajay adopting illegal means to get rid of the guest, look unnecessary and increase the length of the film.

The climax of the film has been written and filmed beautifully making you hooked to it.

Though by making a comedy director Ashwni Dhir, who is known for making light-hearted films and shows has done, what he is known for, but by handling the other aspects of filmmaking like emotions and devotion successfully, he has shown that he has the capacity to be a good director. The cameraman Aseem Bajaj has also done a reasonable job. On the other hand though, some tracks are catchy, one feels Pitam could have done better in music department.

It takes a bit of courage to do the kind of role Ajay Devgn has taken-up in this movie but he has done his job to utmost perfection. Konkana also looks good in her role. Both of them have been supported well by Satish Kaushik. Akhilendra Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari, Viju Khote and Sanjay Mishra. Though, Paresh Rawal has performed his role well, he is so much into comedy these days that \looks repetitive at times, like in this film.

Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge is a hilarious film filled with humor, comedy and emotions. Though, it is not a Chupke Chupke, Golmaal, Chitchor or Khatta Meetha, it is a movie, which will help put a smile on your face.
