Stars: Priyanka Chopra, Uday Chopra, Dino Morea
Pyar Impossible is an age old story, which has been told times and times again in both Indian and foreign films. It is a story of an ordinary looking boy falling in love with a girl, who is as beautiful as a princess.
A good love story is one, where you fall in love with the characters on the screen and they touch your heart. That’s precisely what the characters of Pyar Impossible tend to do. It may not be the perfect love story but yet there is a beautiful feeling about this film that you tend to carry with yourself once the film ends.
The story starts in the university in California where every boy loves Alisha [Priyanka Chopra] and wishes her to be his girlfriend.
And just like all other boys, one person who loves her is nerdy, awkward and bespectacled geek of the college, Abhay [Uday Chopra]. It doesn’t matter to Abhay that while he is crazy about her, leave alone having any kind of feelings for him, Alisha doesn’t even know who he is.
But, acting in a courageous and bold manner Abhay does go and express his feelings to Alisha only to realize that she doesn’t care for him in any way. Knowing her feelings for him, Abhay distances himself from her dream girl to concentrate on his career until fate again brings him close to Alisha.
Just like 3 Idiots looks somewhat similar to Munnabhai MBBS but in the end manages to hold its independent identity, Pyar Impossible despite looking similar to Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, manages to steer clear of any allegation of being a copy of that film.
The story and the screenplay by Uday Chopra are good though the screenplay could have been tight. For example, there are certain points like when Uday arrives in Singapore, where you feel he could have expressed his love but then fail to understand why he doesn’t do it. But, these small drawbacks can be overlooked as both the story and the screenplay gets back to track at the climax, which has been shot well.
The good story has been backed by an equally well competent technical team. Whether it is debutant director Jugal Hansrj, music composer Salim-Sulaiman, cinematographer Santosh Thundiyil or Dialogue writer Uday Chopra, each one of them has done a good job.
The lead pair of the film looks good on screen. Priyanka Chopra has matured as one of the finest lead female stars of her time and with this performance, she once again proves her caliber. Alongside, by giving this performance, Uday Chopra has also proved that if given a proper chance, even he can act. Other lead actors of the film including Dino Morea and Anupam Kher also look impressive in their roles.
Pyar Impossible is a romantic film, which makes you believe in your love. It is also a feel good film that puts a smile on your face at the end of the day. So, just go and watch it and smile all the way..
