Genelia Dsouza upbeet about her career in Bollywood films

Genelia Dsouza is easily one of the most gorgeous Bollywood contemporary actresses. Up till now she’s been working in south Indian movies, but as every actor in India eventually wants to try his or her luck in Hindi cinema, Genelia Dsouza too is making an all out effort. I saw her first time in a television ad opposite none other than Amitabh Bachchan when she was a cute teenager.

Her upcoming Hindi films are Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and Mere Bapp Pehle Aap. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is a young romantic musical in which she plays the lead role against debutante Imraan Khan who is Aamir Khan’s nephew. In fact this film is produced by Aamir Khan and has music by A. R. Rehman.

Mere Baap Pehle Aap is an out and out Priyadarshan comedy which has Akshaye Khanna and Paresh Rawal as the two prime protagonists with Genelia playing Akshaye’s love interest.

These are not Genelia’s debut in Bollywood though; While Tujhe Meri Kasam (2003) was an average runner, Masti (2004) was a big hit. In both the films she was paired opposite Riteish Deshmukh. Then, fearing being typecast, she bid her time and in the mean time kept working in south Indian flicks.
