Priyanka Chopra
Nothing seems to be going right for director Sanjay Gadhvi these days. Though everything is ready and the director with his entire team is all geared up to shoot for his next project ‘7 Days In Paris’, what is missing a lead actress to star in the film.
Sanjay, who probably wanted to put the entire episode of Katrina Kaif walking out of the film behind him, started fresh when he went looking around for a new lead actress for his film.
And this search ended when Sanjay eventually zeroed upon Priyanka Chopra, whom he thought perfectly suited the character.
But, before Sanjay could finalize Priyanka for the role, he was shocked to know that the lady was asking as much as 5 crores for this project.
Sources say that Priyanka gave three reasons for demanding such a high price. First, she feels that with hits like Fashion and Dostana being added to her resume, she deserves this amount. Secondly, Priyanka seems to have told Sanjay that she believes in charging equal fee from all her producers and since Yash Raj films has agreed to pay her 5 crores for their project ‘Pyar Impossible’, so should the others. She said if she charges less from Sanjay Gadhv, she would have to do the same when it comes to producers like Yash Chropra, who are actually capable and ready to pay her 5 crores.
Last but not the least, while it was Imran who was trying to dictate terms earlier, Priyanka totally turned the table round by saying she had demanded such a huge amount because she is taking a risk of working with a newcomer like Imran and therefore being a bigger star will have to carry the film on her shoulder.
Yet, even so many arguments, Priyanka was not able to impress Sanjay Gadhv who argued that he cannot pay this amount to Priyanka at any cost.
Sanjay Gadhv is now said to be discussing the script with Asin and Genelia.

Arshard Warsi
As Anil Kapoor gets ready to release his next home production Short Kut- The Con Is On, everyone associated with the film is very excited that the film starring Akshaye Khanna, Amrita Rao and Arshard Warsi is about to hit the theatres.
But, apart from expressing happiness over the fact that the film is complete and ready for release, Arshard Warsi is slightly upset (sad but not angry) over the fact that an important scene featuring him has been deleted during the final editing.
Ashard, who plays a struggling Bollywood actor in the film, had a unique comic scene in Short Kut- The Con Is On, where he was to be interviewed by the actress of yesteryears Simi Garewal. The entire scene was based on the popular Television show hosted by Simi Garewal, which was aired by a private Television channel, a couple of years back.
Apart from the fact that Arshard was extremely fond of the scene since it highlighted his strong point – comedy, the scene was also important since, even if it was for two minutes, it would have brought back Simi Garewal on big screen after a gap of almost 23 years.
But, unfortunate, when the makers of Short Kut- The Con Is On, saw the final copy of the film, they realized that it was far too long to let the viewers hold on to their seats. So, when the final editing took place, the scene had to be removed from the film.
Hopefully apart from the deleted scene with Simi, the film will have other comic scenes, which will compensate for the deleted scene. At least that’s what Ashard must be hoping for. And as far as Simi is concerned, she will need to wait a little long to return on silver screen.

Whether it was Kaun Banega Carorepati or his other game show Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hai, Shahrukh has always keeps coming back to Television.
And, the good news for all you Shahrukh fans, who love to see him act on the on the small screen is that your favorite actor is going to be back on television and rather than being Shahrukh Khan, and in all probabilities will also play a tiny little character in a serial.
If sources in the Bollywood industry are to be believed, Shahrukh Khan has agreed to be a part of a Television serial, which will serve as the launch pad for Bollywood’s biggest production banner –Yashraj Films into the world of Television production. Though at the end of it all, it will be only a cameo and will only appear in one of the episodes, it is sure to create some eagerness in the mind of Shahrukh’s fans.
And that’s not all. This serial, named as Rishtadotcom, which will showcase a matrimony office, where couples meet and find their partners will also feature other Bollywood stars including Rani Mukherjee, Tabu, Preity Zinta, Riteish Deshmukh, Uday Chopra and Jugal Hansra, who will also feature in different episodes of the serial in cameo roles.
Of course, Yash Yaj films must be hoping that the presence of Bollywood stars helps to increase the ratings of Rishtadotcom .

In December 2008, after a long gap, it was Yash Raj Film’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi that set the Box Office on fire. Though a couple of weeks later, the release of Ghajini made history at the ticket window, but that was it since the Hindi film industry has been waiting for a hit ever since.
You many attribute it to lack of good films or the rift between the producers and the multiples owners, which prevented the release of any big film for months, but the ultimate fact remains that the box office and Bollywood fans are dying for a hit.
But, with the release of New York, it seems that this wait has eventually come to an end. With the film critics across the board giving it a big thumbs-up, the movie buffs are getting even more eager to see New York. Incidentally, just like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, this time also New York, the film that has brought smile back the face of everyone including the producers, the distributors, the cinema hall owners, is a Yash Raj film.
As an owner of a cinema hall puts it, “Its after a long time that we are witnessing a rush at the ticket window. It’s a good sight.”
Of course, one other good news for Yash Raj was that alongside the release of New York, the production company also released the first look of Dil Boler Hadippa. This project is dear to the most powerful person is Yash Raj Films Aditya Chopra, who is said to be a close of the lead actress of the film Rani Mukherjee.
By drawing the fans back to the ticket window, Yash Raj Films has again proved why they are called the most powerful people in Bollywood.

Producing a film is surely a risky business and this risk increases even further when along with being the producer of the film, you are also its lead actor. Talking about the risk, you may say that if the film succeeds, it’s the producer cum actor, who gets all the praise but if it fails, it’s the same person, who has to shoulder the responsibility of the failure.
But, looking at it closely, probably there are more advantages to be both producer and at the same time act in your own film, which can be made use of while making the film itself. If you are the producer, you will not only give yourself the most important role but also see to it that the film revolves around you.
This is probably what Farhan Akhtar did in Rock On, the film produced by his production company Excel Entertainment Private limited, in which he made his debut as an actor. Farhan not only took away the most important role in the film but also all the applauds and the praises that came along with it.
Bollywood is buzzing with reports that Farhan’s co-star in the film, Arjun Rampal is not too happy with the idea that though it was a multi-starrer film and going by the script, it looked as if it was his role that was most powerful, it is Farhan who has walked away with all the applauds and the praises.
But when asked about it, Arjun said that these reports were totally baseless and he had never raised this issue. Further a diplomatic Arjun added that Farhan had really given a wonderful performance in Rock On and deserves all the praise he got for it. Talk about himself, Arjun said that people had also liked him in the film as well for which he was given due credit and he was very happy for it.
It seems someone is lying here. Its either Arjun himself or the sources that broke the news that Arjun was miffed with Farhan. Or may be, for the sake of getting more films with Farhan, Arjun is now playing it safe.

On June 14, 2009 as the entire country, the media and especially the Hindi film industry focused on Shieny Ahuja and the alleged charges against him of raping his maid, the musician trio of Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy had a totally different difficulty to face.
That particular morning, as the musician trio reached their recording studio, they realized that while they were away, someone had entered their studio and a robbery had taken place.
As the three of them got to terms with the fact that some of their valuables were missing, they realized that this small robbery could be enough to ruin both their life and profession career.
But as they looked around, they found out that their computer, which was used by the musicians to compose and make music, was sadly missing.
At the same time though, the musicians also realized that they had kept some final recordings in the studio, which included one of their most ambitious project, My Name Is Khan. So, after the initial shock, they realized that it was these final recordings, which were most valuable to them since if these recordings had got stolen, the musicians will have to not only record them all over again but will also have to pay the singers and other musicians for the second time.
The musicians were relieved only when they saw that the robbers had not touched those recordings and they were safe.
Though the news of the robbery was confirmed by the three musicians, they refused to give any further details.“Police is still investigating the case and has asked us not to reveal anything at this stage. So, we cannot say anything more,” said Loy Mendonsa, one of the three music directors.
Of course, the producers, whose recordings are safe, must be thanking their stars.

Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali khan in Love Aaj Kal
It seems whereas Saif Ali Khan is leaving no stone unturned to promote the first film of his production house Love Aaj Kal in the best possible manner but despite his best efforts, nothing is going right either for him or his film.
After failing to promote the film the way he wanted to at the T20 cricket world cup due to India’s early exit from the tournament, Saif Ali Khan is facing a new problem and this time its regarding the music of the film.
Whereas the music of the film is still to hit the record stores, both Saif Ali Khan and the music director of Love Aaj Kal Pitam are in a state of shock to note that many music websites were offering the MP3 downloads of the film even before the release of the music.
While reacting on the issue, a disturbed music director of Love Aaj Kal said, “Actually I was surprised to see the songs on the internet more so because the process of mastering them is still incomplete. Though the fact that the songs have been offered on the net before the audio release is itself not good but what is even worse is that they are an unfinished version. I am not sure what would the listeners be making of the songs that they are currently hearing.”
Pitam said that since director Imtiaz Ali had some exceptional music in his last movie Jab We Met, Bollywood lovers are eagerly waiting for the music of Love Aaj Kal. He added that to cash on this eagerness, some websites released an incomplete and unmixed version of the music on their websites.

In an interview during the early days in his acting career, Abhishek Bachchan had confessed that though he would love to be an actor of his father’s caliber and idolizes Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, it is very difficult for him to face the camera in his presence. This despite the fact that Mr. Amitabh Bachchan has always treated his son as a friend in his personal life and an equivalent co-star in his professional life.
Now as Kamal Hassan’s daughter Shruti Hassan makes her Bollywood debut with her first movie Luck, she is facing similar kind of problems.
Just like all other lead actress of the present day, Shruti has said that she is willing reveal and even wear some unconventional dresses if that is the demand of the film. But, alongside, she adds that come what may, she will never be able to wear anything of such sorts in the presence of her father.
In fact, similar to Abhishek, Shruti has also said that she is not comfortable facing the camera in front of her father and makes sure that her father Kamal Hassan is not present on the sets while she is shooting.
May be just like Abhishek, Shruti needs to sign a couple of films with her father and when she will have no other choice but to act with her father, her fears and apprehensions will slowly reduce and eventually disappear.

Though, Michael Jackson had no other direct connection with Bollywood apart from the fact that he had once made one music video with A R Rehman. Like millions across the world, celebrities from the Hindi Film Industry are also a fan of legendary Michael Jackson and have mourned his sudden and unexpected death.
Paying rich tributes to the singer, who died of a cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles, choreographer Farah Khan said, "I officially had no training in dance and whatever I learnt was by watching Michael Jackson’s videos, especially `Thriller` over and over again. I consider him as my ‘guru’. He was the real motivation behind my becoming a choreographer. Whatever I am today is because of the video Thriller because it was only after watching Thriller that I decided to take up dancing as a profession". She further recalls, “I remember, I had gone for an award show to New York. We were at the same event. I asked the organizers if they could arrange a meeting between us, which they did. It was a surreal experience. I feel really sad today."
Singer Palash Sen said, “I am a huge fan of Michael Jackson. The man gave modern pop an identity and gave all of us lessons in music. He had a unique ability to sing and dance. He truly was the God of pop. Maybe the only singer in history who everyone knows across the globe.”
Many other Bollywood celebrities including actors Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, Javed Jaffrey Prabhu Deva, music composers and singers Shankar Mahadevan and Sukhvinder Singh, directors Anurag Basu, Subhash Ghai, Madhur Bhandarkar and singer Sunidhi Chauhan also remembered the singer and said that they all have been inspired by the legendary singer.

Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in Kambakkht Ishq
Emraan Hashmi is probably going through an identity crises these days because his identity of a serial kisser has now been taken away by Akshay Kumar. Reports suggest that in his upcoming film Kambakkht Ishq, the lead pair of the film Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor are said to have enacted the lip locking scene for as many as ten times.
If sources in the industry are to be believed, this may be some sort of a record in Bollywood.
Unlike some other films in Bollywood, the best part of shooting these scenes for Kambakkht Ishq was that since both Akshay and Kareena are good friends and enjoy working with each other, the director of Kambakkht Ishq Sabir Khan did not face any trouble in shooting these scenes.
An optimistic Kareena while speaking about the film also expressed similar views when she said, “Akshay and I are good friends and I regard him as one of my favorite co-star. Moreover Kambakkht Ishq is one of my best film till date and has all the ingredients to make a super hit. I hope the audiences give us a positive response.”
But, if the producers of the film are of the opinion that merely having that many number of kissing scenes can bring the audiences to theatres, they are wrong. Trend off late seem to indicate that those who go to see the movie are smart enough to distinguish between a good and a bad film and therefore do not go to cinema hall just to watch only a certain kind of scenes. Hopefully, as Kareena has tried to point out, Kambakkht Ishq is a good film on an overall basis and therefore will be liked by the audiences.

Only a couple of days back, it had been reported how despite limping, Asin not only walked on the ramp but managed her daily routine work without any special help from anyone.
Something similar was also done by John Abraham recently when he attended a promotional event of his upcoming movie New York, even though his foot was broken.
John who was recently shooting for his upcoming film Hook Ya Crook, broke his right foot on the sets of the movie and is in plaster. But, since he realizes that New York is an important film in his career and not only those associated with the film but the entire Hindi Film Industry has a lot of expectations from it, John did not want to leave any opportunity to promote the film. So, though his foot was in plaster, John did not miss the promotional event and reached there with help of crutches.
When asked, John tried to downplay the entire issue by saying, “Oh, its just a fracture. My doctor is taking good care of me and though it will take a month, I’ll be fine.”
Last year, when Aamir Khan had got injured during the shooting of Ghajini, even he had downplayed the entre incident and though he was in a lot of pain, Aamir did not let the unit of the film panic.
Its good to see how those who are shown immensely strong on the screen are also beginning to act the same in their real life. By setting such examples, reel life heroes are becoming real life heroes.

Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori the lead pair of Kites
Rakesh Roshan’s film Kites has been in news for various reasons.
First, though it is being produced by Rakesh Roshan and stars his son Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, the film is being promoted as an international project. And Rakesh Roshan has left no left no stone unturned to highlight this fact. First of all, Rakesh goes and sign Hollywood actress Barbara Mori for the role of the female lead against his son Hrithik Roshan and then goes and unveils the first look of the film at the prestigious Cannes film festival. Hrithik himself has reported missed no opportunity whatsoever to promote Kites as an international film either. At the very same time, a smart Rakesh has also made sure that back home, Hrithik’s fans also don’t lose interest in the film. Whether it’s the news about the alleged hot kiss in the film or the closeness between Hrithik and Barbara Mori at Cannes, Kites is getting the right kind of publicity.
So, is it a fairy tale story for the Roshans? Not really. Though Hrithik maintains that nothing of those sorts ever happened, the truth is that his wife Suzanne was allegedly extremely upset with the news of link-up between Hrithik and Barbara Mori and left home precisely for this reason.
A worried Rakesh is now said to have made it clear to all his near and dear ones that he does not want his son’s life to be turned into hell due to a few scenes in Kites and therefore is contemplating releasing to different edited versions of the film – one without the alleged passionate scenes between Hrithik and Barbara Mori, which will be released back home in India and the other with those scenes, to be released world-wide.
But, with the director of the film Anurag Basu not too happy with the idea, it seems that Rakesh’s plans have already run into trouble. Whereas Rakesh is busy promoting Kites as a film for international audiences, Anurag is worried that this may lead to a situation, where the film turns out to another Slumdog Millionaire, which despite being a smash hit worldwide was a big flop in India. Anurag Basu strongly feels that to avoid this situation, the edition with passionate scenes will have to be released even in India.
But, as producer Rakesh Roshan and director Anurag Basu are busy sorting out their differences, the film has run into further trouble with Rakesh not finding an appropriate distributor of the international release of the film.
Sources now point out that while Rakesh is busy sorting out these issues, it has delayed the release of the film. The film which was due to release in the of 2009 will now only be released early next year.

“Arrest him. He is carrying a fake passport”, said the immigration officer at the airport as Neil Nitin Mukesh approached him for clearance. The actor was soon detained for not carrying an original passport.
If you thought this was a scene from Nitin’s upcoming movie, think again. Because, contrary to what you may think, rather than reel life, this incident actually took place in actor’s real life as he was detained at an airport in United States.
The stories of racial discrimination against Indians are not new and history has a list of such incidents documented with it starting from Mahatna Gandhi in South Africa to the recent attacks on students of Indian origin in Australia, where people had to suffer due to black color of their skin.
Neil also had to go through one such experiences some days back, though the only difference in his case was that he was harassed and detained because rather than being black in color, his skin is white. The actor was recently detained at an airport in America when the authorities objected to his passport showing him a person of Indian origin, where as going by his looks and color of his skin, he seems to be of an European or American origin. The immigration officer just couldn’t understand that why a person of European or American origin carried an Indian passport and insisted that he was an Indian?
Initially, the authorities also refused to accept that Neil was an Indian actor. But, it was only after Nitin acted smart and somehow convinced the authorities to search his initials at Google search, that the entire confusion got sorted out and he was set free by the immigration authorities in United States.
So Neil Nitin Mukesh should thank this wonder called Google search engine that saved him from lots of trouble.

Amitabh Bachchan
Whereas like it was expected in the first place, IIFA was a great and a very successful award function apart from the fact that there was one event or rather the lack of it that left everyone disappointed.
While the award function went on in Macau in China, there was a buzz at the site of the function that IIFA this year will unveil the first look of Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming film Aladdin and to mark this special occasion, Mr. Bachchan himself was going to perform at the award function. You may recall that Aladdin is in the news for a peppy number, which is said to be picturized on Mr. Bachchan himself. Probably, those present at the award ceremony anticipated that Mr. Bachchan was going to perform on this very number and will appear on the stage wearing the special dress, which was specially stitched for this song.
But as the award ceremony got going, it was revealed that Mr. Bachchan was not slated to give any such performance.
Sources have now revealed that the director of Aladdin Sujoy Ghosh stuck a deal with the organizers of IIFA that Mr. will perform at function but forgot to inform the same to Mr. Bachchan. When Mr. Bachchan got to know about this news just 15 days before the show, he refused to perform saying that he did not have enough time to rehearse for this performance.
Mr. Bachchan is also said to have called up Sujoy Ghosh and asked for an explanation as why he was not informed about the proposed deal, which he had with IIFA.
Though, Sujoy had no explanation to offer, the real explanation has to come from Mr. Bachchan himself. How is that when Mr. Bachchan is the brand ambassador of IIFA and is so closely associated with the event, he did not know that such a deal was stuck and he was to perform at the event?
